@kristensramen
In 2016, I created an instagram account called @kristensramen.
My main goal was to make friends, post memes, and share my perspective as a korean-american girl growing up in Los Angeles.
In less than a year, I gained 20K followers and built an active community with people around the world (America, Canada, Spain, London, Italy, etc).
This experience was one of the biggest turning points in my life. I realized that I had a passion for bringing people together and curating social spaces/events!
During this time I hosted 4 art exhibits, created and maintained a blog website (100+ users), and consistently made viral Instagram posts (200K+ likes).
Where & Who are we?
This is an “artist reference” presentation I made that explores the similarities and differences between CYBER and PHYSICAL space.
It includes quotes from scholars I have read in previous game studies classes and art pieces I found relevant.

“The computer becomes … an improvisational performance space for the user.
[By] using the [internet] in both a social and performative function, the construction and representation of identity becomes
multiple and hybrid, continuous but plural.”

If our social connection,
location, and memories
do not always require the physical,
Is the digital experience just as real?
